Delete your DeLaw account
You can have your DeLaw account, and the personal data that belongs to it, deleted at any time: from the DeLaw mobile app, or by email. This page says how, what happens when you do, and what is kept and for how long. It covers the DeLaw mobile app for Android and iOS, the DeLaw web app at app.delaw.io and delaw.io. Korevra Technologies Limited provides DeLaw; our privacy policy has the full detail.
From the mobile app
Open Profile → My data → Delete account, and confirm.
- If you sign in to the app with your DeLaw account (the same email and password as app.delaw.io, or Google, or Apple), the deletion starts as soon as you confirm:
- you must have signed in within the last 30 minutes; if you have not, the app asks you to sign in again first;
- if you are the only owner of a firm's workspace, the app tells you so and nothing is deleted: first make another member an owner of it on app.delaw.io, or ask us to close that workspace (your own practice workspace does not count);
- you leave every firm workspace you belong to, and any invitation still waiting for you is declined;
- every phone signed in to your account is told to remove DeLaw's data, you are signed out everywhere, and your sign-in is switched off;
- your own practice workspace, if you have one, is closed (see the table below);
- 30 days later, your sign-in account itself is deleted.
- If you sign in to the app with a one-time code only (the app's own account, in versions before 1.2.0), Delete account sends us an erasure request for that account. We answer within 30 days. Your personal details are erased; where a professional record has to be kept, the record stays and the person in it is anonymised.
Before you delete, export anything you need: an owner or administrator of a workspace can download all of it on app.delaw.io under Organisation → Data & audit.
On the web
The web app has no delete-account button. If you belong to a firm's workspace, an owner or administrator of that workspace can remove you under Organisation → Members; your sign-in is then switched off but kept, so that your past work stays attributed to you. To have the sign-in itself deleted, use the mobile app as above, or write to us. To close a workspace you own and have everything in it deleted, see closing a workspace in the privacy policy.
By email
Write to support@korevra.com from the address on your account, with "Delete my account" in the subject. We may ask you to confirm that the request is yours before we act on it, and we answer within 30 days.
What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in account: name, email address, sign-in methods | Switched off when you confirm, and deleted 30 days later. An account of the app's own (versions before 1.2.0) is kept for 90 days after its deletion. |
| Your phones, sessions and notifications | Every phone signed in to your account is told to remove DeLaw's data, and you are signed out everywhere. Your browser push subscriptions, calendar links and WhatsApp consent with each firm are removed. |
| Your own practice workspace and everything in it | Closed: read-only for 30 days, then deleted by a Korevra operator within 90 days of the closure. Copies in the service's backups expire within 98 days of the deletion. |
| Your work in a firm's workspace: matters, documents, time, notes | Stays with the firm, which is its controller: ask the firm about it. Your member record there is kept, marked as removed, so the work stays attributed to you, and the firm's audit log records that you left. |
| Invoices and payment references for a DeLaw subscription | Seven years (financial and tax records). |
| The audit record of account and billing actions | Seven years. |
Personal data about you held inside a firm's workspace, as a client or a party to a matter, belongs to that firm's records: the firm is its controller. See your rights in the privacy policy for how to ask about it.
